Dr. Govind Nandakumar is a senior surgical gastroenterologist and clinical oncologist. With a career spanning more than 24 years, his specializations include surgical gastroenterology, gastrointestinal oncology, and minimal access surgery. His areas of interest in the latest GI surgery include robotics, colon and dorsal surgery, laparoscopy, and HPB surgery. He has earned great acclaim for carrying out hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, and colorectal surgery. He is particularly interested in the treatment of inflammatory bowel illness as well as treatment for liver cancers. Dr. Nandakumar holds a BSc. from the Univ. of Michigan, USA, and an MD from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He has also completed fellowships from the American Coll. of Surgeons and the American Society for Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He also pursued surgical advanced training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in Manhattan, New York City. Throughout his career, Dr. Nandakumar has served as recognized for excellence, receiving prestigious accolades such as the Alpha Omega Alpha Resident Teaching accolade, the Hassan Nama Chief Resident Teaching accolade, and the Leading Health Professionals of the World accolade. Additionally, he has served as published in several peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Surgical Oncology, the Indian Journal of Surgical Oncology, and the Journal of Surgical Endoscopy.
