His specialized areas of interventional cardiology include pulmonary valve, balloon dilation of the mitral valve, coarctation of the aorta, renal, and peripheral arteries, along with temporary and permanent pacemaker implantations. Dr. Saxena demonstrated specialization in independently conducting numerous cardiac catheterizations for both pediatric and adult patients. After completing his MBBS from Jiwaji Univ., Gwalior, in 1980, he also achieved an MD (Medicine) from Jiwaji Univ., Gwalior, 1983, DM (Cardiology), Mangalore Univ., Karnataka, India, 1987, and a Research Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology.
