Dr. M.S. Kanwar is a well?recognized Pulmonologist with more than 50 years of extensive professional experience. He focuses on Critical Care and managing a spectrum of Respiratory conditions, including Asthma, COPD, Allergies, Lung Infections, Interstitial Lung Fibrosis, Sarcoidosis, and Lung Cancer. Dr. Kanwar's expertise encompasses Critical Care Consultations, ICU Procedures (including ECMO), Post-Transplant Complications, Mechanical Ventilation, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Medical Thoracoscopy, and managing Hemodynamic challenges in ICU settings. His outpatient practice primarily focuses on respiratory ailments like Asthma, COPD, Allergies, Lung Infections, ILD, Sarcoidosis, Tuberculosis, and Lung Cancer. He is recognized as a trailblazer in Sleep Medicine within India, pioneering the establishment of Asia's Largest Sleep Lab at Indraprastha Apollo Hosp., New Delhi, in 1995. Dr. Kanwar's leadership in this field extends to conducting groundbreaking sleep studies and presenting research on Sleep Apnea at global conferences. Dr. Kanwar's academic journey includes obtaining his MBBS and MD from Govt. Medical Coll., Amritsar, and DNB (Respiratory Medicine) from the National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He pursued additional advanced training in Cardiology at the Univ. of Vienna (Austria), Pulmonary and Critical Care at Mayo Clinic, Rochester (USA), Sleep Medicine at Mayo Clinic Rochester, and Lung Transplantation at UNH (Univ. Network Hosp.), Toronto, Canada. He initiated his career in Critical Care Medicine during his tenure abroad as a Consultant in Large Teaching Hospitals and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the late 1980s and 1990s, specializing in managing serious ICU cases such as Sepsis, Shock, and Mechanical Ventilation. He has contributed significantly to research in Sleep Disorders and Bronchoscopy, delivering numerous faculty presentations across India and the USA. With 33 years of teaching professional experience in Respiratory, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine, both domestically and internationally, Dr. Kanwar has mentored numerous postgraduate DNB students and Post Doctoral Fellowship candidates, guiding thesis projects and serving as an examiner for fellowship exams performed by reputable medical institutions. He is a part of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Medical Council of India, American Coll. of Chest Physicians, Austrian Medical Society, Indian Sleep Disorder Association, Indian Critical Care Society, Indian Association for Bronchology, Indian Chest Society, and National Coll. of Chest Physicians.Education
