During her tenure at AIIMS, Dr. Behari played a pivotal role in establishing a comprehensive movement disorders specialty equipped with advanced treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy and DBS for Parkinson's disease and dystonia patients. Previously, she held the presidency of both the National Indian Academy of Neurology and the Delhi Neurological Association, and presently, she occupies the role of the inaugural President of the Movement Disorders Society of India. She has served as recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Woman Bio-scientist accolade from the Government of India and the Innovation in Science accolade from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Additionally, she plays a significant role in the global neurology community, serving as the Chairperson of the Education Committee for the International Society of Movement Disorders and Parkinson's Disease and as a part of various other committees within the organization.
