Dr. Maitreyee completed an MBBS and M.D. in General Medicine. After this, she completed her D.M. in Hematology from All India Inst. of Medical Science, New Delhi. She was the first D.M. Hematologist from Eastern India. She was granted membership in the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) at the National Inst. of ImmunoHematology, Mumbai. She serves as a reviewer for several esteemed journals, including the Indian Journal of Hematology & Blood Transfusion, Clinical Chemistry & Laboratory Medicine, and the Indian Journal of Pathology & Microbiology. Dr. Bhattacharya pioneered Bone Marrow transplant procedures in State Government hospitals.
