He boasts a remarkable record of over 30,000 surgeries performed to address various urological conditions. His educational qualifications include MBBS from Government Medical Coll., Jabalpur, 1970, MS (General Surgery) from Government Medical Coll., Jabalpur, 1974, and MCh (Urology) from All India Inst. of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, 1977. He also received a Fellowship from the Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS) in 1998 and a Doctor of Science (D.Sc) from Rani Durgwati Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur, 2009. Throughout his extensive 54-year journey in Urology, Dr. Gupta has made significant contributions to the advancement of Urological sciences on both national and international platforms. Recognized as a trailblazer in the field, Dr. Gupta initiated robotic surgery in Urology at AIIMS in 2006, subsequently becoming a leading practitioner in India for this innovative technique. He has held prestigious roles, such as President of the Urological Society of India in 2007 and Asia from 2008 to 2010. His exemplary contributions have been honored with numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri bestowed by the Government of India in 2007 and the Dr. B. C. Roy National accolade by the Medical Council of India in 2005. Dr. Gupta's influence extends globally, having served as a National Delegate and Board part of the Societe Internationale D'Urologie from 2004 to 2006. He has written six books and 18 videos on Urology and contributed chapters to 9 others.
