With more than 25 years of professional experience, he played a pivotal role in establishing highly successful Minimally Invasive Urology programs, including Robotic Surgery and Kidney Transplant services, achieving outcomes that rival the best in the world. With an illustrious career spanning several prestigious institutions, Dr. Ahlawat has spearheaded four successful Urology and Renal Transplant programs across India, including Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Inst. of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, and Medanta- the Medicity, Gurugram. Recognized as a pioneer in minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Ahlawat has served as invited as guest faculty for live demonstrations of laparoscopic and robotic surgeries worldwide, covering procedures such as Pyeloplasty, Partial Nephrectomy, and Kidney Transplantation. Dr. Ahlawat's groundbreaking work includes the world's first Robotic Kidney Transplant (RKT) utilizing the regional Hypothermia technique, a collaborative effort with Prof. Mani Menon's team from Vattikuti Urology Inst. (VUI) at Henry Ford Hosp., Detroit, USA. His educational qualifications include MBBS from King George's Medical Coll., Lucknow Univ., 1976, MS (General Surgery) from King George's Medical Coll., Lucknow Univ., 1980, and MCh (Urology) from All India Inst. of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS), 1986. He also received a Membership of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS) in General Surgery from the DNB Board, New Delhi, in 1982. His contributions have earned him accolades such as the President's Gold Medal by USI in 2016 and the title of Honorary Lecturer by Univ. Coll. London Hospitals (UCLH), UK in 1995. Dr. Ahlawat's commitment to advancing medical practices extends to serving on the Board of Directors of the Endourology Society, as well as his efforts to promote robotic techniques globally. He is an esteemed part of the Urological Society of India (USI), National Academy of Medical Sciences, American Urological Association (AUA), EndoUrology Society, and Society Internationale de Urology.
