Dr. (Prof.) Raju Vaishya is a well?recognized Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon with more than 32 years of professional experience. He focuses on arthritis management and knee and shoulder surgery, including arthroscopy, total joint replacement, and articular cartilage implantation. He is skilled in various types of hip replacements (cemented, uncemented, hybrid, bipolar, & revision) and knee replacements (unicondylar, fixed bearing mobile bearing/total condylar, revision knees). Dr. Vaishya is also experienced in joint replacements and arthroscopic surgeries since 1987, performing over 500 total joint replacements and over 2000 arthroscopic surgeries. He is credited as one of the pioneering orthopedic surgeons who introduced shoulder arthroscopy in India, earning him recognition as the leading surgeon for knee and hip arthroplasty in the country. After completing his MBBS from G R Medical Coll., Gwalior, in 1982, he also achieved MS (Orthopaedics) from G R Medical Coll., Gwalior, in 1986, and MCh (Orthopedics) from the Univ. of Liverpool, UK, 1990. He also achieved FRCS (General Surgery) from the Royal Coll. Of Surgeons, England, in 2012, Post Graduate Diploma (Hosp. Administration) from Apollo Med Varsity, an AO Fellowship (Operative Management of Fractures) from Germany and Switzerland, advanced training (Shoulder and Knee Arthroscopy) from Rush Presbyterian Hosp., Chicago, and advanced training (Shoulder Arthroscopy) from Univ. of Liverpool. His other qualifications include Knee Fellowship from Hill Top Hosp., Bromsgrove, Fellowship of the American Coll. of Surgeons (FACS), USA, and PG Diploma in Hosp. Administration (PGDHA). Dr. Vaishya was awarded Professor's gold medal for groundbreaking research on synthetic ACL grafts. His contributions to orthopedics have been recognized multiple times in the Limca Book of Records. He has performed extensive research on various aspects of Arthroscopy and joint replacement, resulting in over 175 publications in esteemed peer-reviewed journals and medical textbooks. He performed original research on knee joints during advanced training, publishing several publications in international journals. Dr. Vaishya holds the largest published series in India on arthroscopic management of stiff knees.
