Dr. Sanjiv Saigal is an eminent Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist, and Liver Transplant Surgeon in New Delhi. He boasts more than 35 years of professional experience and has performed 4,500+ liver transplant procedures to date. Dr. Saigal focuses on diagnosing and managing alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis, portal hypertension, drug-induced liver disease, liver cancer, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. He is skilled in both living donor and cadaveric liver transplants. Dr. Saigal earned his MBBS from Calcutta Univ. in 1989, MD in Internal Medicine from Postgraduate Inst. of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, in 1993, and DM in Gastroenterology from Govind Ballabh Pant Hosp., New Delhi, in 1998. Later, he went abroad to improve his skills in hepatology further and master the liver transplant procedure. In 1999, he earned an MRCP from the Royal Coll. of Physicians, Edinburg, UK, followed by a Fellowship in Liver Transplant from King’s Coll. Hosp., London, in 2001. Dr. Saigal also holds a certification of Completion of Specialist advanced training (CCST) in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the Royal Coll. of Gastroenterology, UK. His international advanced training and certifications helped him in establishing the first successful transplant hepatology program in India. Dr. Saigal is engaged in research and workshops in gastroenterology and has published over 200 research publications and articles. He is known for managing complex medical cases and prioritizing accurate diagnosis and compassionate patient care.
