Dr. Shailendra Lalwani is a reputed Gastroenterology surgeon with more than 23 years of professional experience in providing healthcare in the field of liver transplantation. He has performed rare liver transplant procedures like combined kidney-liver transplantation and dual lobe liver transplant, i.e., liver retrieved from 2 donors. Further, he also did a liver transplant surgery for the smallest child in India, weighing 4.5 kg. He has also worked on cosmetic donor surgery, has assisted in laparoscopic donor hepatectomy, and has performed Small Incision Donor Hepatectomy. He has performed over 1000+ liver transplant surgeries that were completed, including: Open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery for liver resection Gastro-duodenal surgeries Esophagectomies Small bowel surgeries Shunt procedures for portal hypertension Dr. Lalwani’s educational qualifications include an MBBS from the Univ. of Rajasthan, Jaipur, in 2001 and an MS degree in General Surgery from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical Coll., Ajmer, in 2006. Further, he also successfully pursued a DNB in Gastroenterology from Sir Ganga Ram Hosp., New Delhi, in 2011 and is a recognized guide and teacher for students. Dr. Shailendra Lalwani also went on to become an editorial board part of several journals, like Archives of Organ Transplantation, Journal of Gastroenterology, Liver & Pancreatic Disease, Journal of Biological Research (Hong Kong), and SM Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Also, he has delivered lectures on Biliary and vascular anatomy with pitfalls and variations, the management of hepatic colorectal metastasis- an evidence?led algorithm, Porto-mesenteric venous thrombosis- an often-missed diagnosis, and more. Dr. Lalwani is also a part of some of the most professional medical associations.
