Dr. Suraj Manjunath is a surgical oncologist offering expert treatment to his patients from his 27 years of professional experience. He focuses on minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal malignancies and breast cancer surgery through advanced techniques such as Oncoplasty, Sentinel Node Techniques, organ conversation and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols. He is also skilled in robotic and laparoscopic cancer surgeries and omentectomy. He excels in offering treatment for breast, oral, thyroid, cervical, lung, throat, and colorectal cancer. He uses advanced methods or surgical approaches to heal his patients. He pursued an MS from the same Coll. in 2002. He continued his education to gain specialization with an MCh in Surgical Oncology at Kidwai Memorial Inst. of Oncology, Bangalore, in 2006. He is a winner of a gold medal and also the first Indian to be honored with the ‘International Career Development accolade’ from the Surgical Oncology Society in the US in 2013. His exceptional professional experience and skills can be attributed to advanced training and fellowships from prestigious institutes and hospitals in the USA. Dr. Manjunath is an active researcher with 67 publications research publications in his authorship. He has even co-authored a book with his wife on the relationship between the scientific and spiritual aspects of medicine and healing. He is the man behind the foundation and development of the Surgical Oncology Department at St John’s Medical Coll. & Hosp.. Here, he established one of the first MCh Surgical Oncology advanced training programs. Dr. Manjunath has also served as an MCh (Surgical Oncology) examiner at multiple universities. He has also been Examiner Convenor for DNB (Surgical Oncology) Examinations. He is the founder part of the Oncology Task Force at St. John’s Medical Coll. and Hosp.. As a member, he contributed to the establishment of St. John’s Oncology Center in 2013. He was also part of the Convenor Tumor Board at St. John’s Medical Coll. Hosp. & Oncology Center from 2013 to 2017. Owing to his extraordinary career, he is also a part of multiple medical organizations like IASO and the Society of Peritoneal Malignancies in India.Education
